I offer a non-pathologizing approach to working with your difficulties to create fulfilling and harmonious relationships internally (with the many complex aspects of yourself) and externally (with your interpersonal relationships with friends, family, romantic partners, co-workers, etc). I use a holistic framework to effectively treat your whole mind, body, and consciousness system as well as surface symptoms and complaints.
For individual therapy, we will explore the root causes of your symptoms and set our goals to gently and fully resolve the issues. I provide a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental space for you to explore what is driving any extreme emotions, behaviors, or negative beliefs you are experiencing. We will transform any challenging and difficult aspects of yourself into valuable resources of strength, clarity, and compassion. This style of therapy empowers you to eventually act as your own “self-therapist”, with the tools and skills to soothe and resolve issues using your own inner resources.
In couples therapy, I combine the deep therapeutic and mindfulness based techniques of Internal Family Systems Therapy, with actual research on what works/does not work in marriages from The Gottman Institute with the “no nonsense/get to the point” style of Relational Life Therapy. I find this combination of therapies to be the best of the best. Nothing is more rewarding to me that helping a couple feel hopeful again with new confidence that they have what it takes to make their relationship better than ever.
Dori integrates these highly effective approaches to find the most helpful tools for you:
